Northern New York State Hockey League

The NNYSHL runs on three connected platforms. Each one plays a distinct role in how our league operates, from team registration to final tournament seeding. Here's a quick guide to what each one does and why it matters to you.

1. Crossbar — Team & League Registration

What it's for: Crossbar is the front door to the NNYSHL. It's where teams register for the season and handle league administration.

What this means for you:

• Team managers use Crossbar to register their team each season 
• League fees, team contact info, and administrative setup are handled here 
• League-wide announcements, schedules, and administrative info flow through this platform 

Bottom line: If you're joining or managing a team in the NNYSHL, Crossbar is where your season starts. 

2. GameSheet — Rosters, Stats & Game Records

What it's for: GameSheet is the league's official roster and scorekeeping system. Every game played in the NNYSHL is recorded here — goals, assists, penalties, goaltending stats, and final scores. 

What this means for you:

• Player rosters are maintained in GameSheet, tied directly to each player's official USA Hockey roster 
• Game sheets are entered or verified through GameSheet after every contest 
• Player and team stats (points, PIMs, save percentage, etc.) are tracked here in real time 
• This is the official system of record for who's eligible to play and what happened on the ice 

Bottom line: GameSheet is the league's stat book — if you want to know how a player or team is performing, this is the source of truth.

3. My Hockey Rankings (MHR) — Standings & Tournament Seeding

What it's for: My Hockey Rankings pulls in results to produce an independent, algorithm-based ranking of every team in the league.

What this means for you:

• MHR standings are the official standings used to determine playoff and year-end tournament positioning
• Rankings are calculated based on results and strength of schedule, not just win-loss record
• Teams should check MHR regularly to understand where they stand heading into the postseason

Bottom line: Come tournament time, MHR is the scoreboard that counts.

Together, these three platforms are the backbone of how the NNYSHL operates — from the moment a team registers to the final seed in the year-end tournament.

Note: All gameplay in the NNYSHL is governed by the official USA Hockey Rulebook. Crossbar, GameSheet, and MHR support registration, stats, and standings — but on-ice rules and player conduct are governed by USA Hockey.
